As General Manager at the InterContinental San Juan, Herrmann is responsible for the 402-room beachfront resort, including oversight and management of the 400-plus staff, rooms, and food and beverage operations with the objective of maintaining the highest levels of guest satisfaction.

He is also responsible as Regional Director of Operation in the Caribbean for IHG in creating synergies, economic opportunities and overseeing all managed and franchised properties in the region including the Holiday Inn Mayaguez & Tropical Casino and the Holiday Inn Ponce & Tropical Casino. 

Herrmann brings a wealth of experience and is a results-oriented operations specialist with 35 years of experience in the hotel industry, of which 19 years have been devoted to InterContinental Hotels & Resorts.

Prior to his appointment he was Director of Operations for IHG Southwest Asia Division, responsible for all managed and franchised hotels in India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh, including hotels under construction or in pre-opening stage. The IHG Southwest Asia portfolio consisted of four InterContinental, three Crowne Plaza and six Holiday Inn hotels as well as 31 new management contracts for hotels under development, construction or in pre-opening phase.

Previous positions within the company included Regional Director of Operations in Indochina and Bangladesh and General Manager at the InterContinental Bangkok and Holiday Inn Bangkok in Thailand. He also served as Regional Director of Operations in the Philippines, Thailand and Cambodia and was General Manager at the Hotel InterContinental Manila in the Philippines.

From 1996 to 2000, Herrmann held the position of Vice President of Development for InterContinental Asia Pacific and Vice President of Development and Asset Management in Hong Kong and Singapore.

Other management positions held included Director of Development for InterContinental Hotels & Resort Latin America division in Miami and opening General Manager at the InterContinental Cartagena Hotel in Colombia.
